About

I love the outdoors! (this is the only issue I have with counseling, I have not found a way to do it outside, yet!)

Hello and thank you for visiting my site! My name is Marie Sloane and my number one goal as a therapist is to work myself out of a job. As a survivor of postpartum depression, I know how hard it can be to find good support.

My hope is to help all who have been experiencing the negative effects of trauma, peri/postpartum, and LGBTQIA+ issues know that they are not alone. I want to help everyone feel relief from anxiety, stress and depression and feel empowered, confident and at ease again (or maybe for the first time).

I help my clients by using a mixture of talk therapy and EMDR to help them work through whatever challenges they are being faced with. I work with each client to create a plan that fits their specific needs. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, enabling clients to be an active participant in the treatment planning process – you are the expert on your life and your experience, I strive to be an assistant on your journey, not an expert.

I have a Bachelors degree in Interpersonal Communication from Arizona State University and I received my Masters in Science from Grand Canyon University. I have been EMDRIA trained in EMDR and have also received multiple trainings in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Per/Postpartum issues through PSI (Postpartum Support International).
