About

Hello and thank you for visiting my site! My name is Marie Sloane and my number one goal as a therapist is to work myself out of a job. As a survivor of postpartum depression, I know how hard it can be to find good support and also to deal with the ongoing issues of parenting (and co-parenting/blended families).

My hope is to help all who have been experiencing the negative effects of trauma and peri/postpartum/parenting issues know that they are not alone. I want to help everyone feel relief from anxiety, stress and depression and feel empowered, confident and at ease again (or maybe for the first time).

I help my clients by using a mixture of talk therapy and EMDR to help them work through whatever challenges they are being faced with. I work with each client to create a plan that fits their specific needs. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, enabling clients to be an active participant in the treatment planning process – you are the expert on your life and your experience, I strive to be an assistant on your journey, not an expert.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication from Arizona State University and I received my master’s in science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of AZ (License #LPC-21238) and am a board-approved supervisor. I have been EMDRIA trained in EMDR and have also received multiple trainings in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Structural Dissociation, Peri/postpartum issues (through Postpartum Support International) and I am certified as a PMH-C through that organization.

As the owner of my own private practice for years, I also love helping/empowering other counselors or mental health providers in developing a life that supports them. I offer consulting around mindset, vision, processes, and specialty. If you’re tired of working for someone else, I totally understand! (and I would love to work with you to help jumpstart a life that you want and love)
